    educator podcaster
I have always been interested in the PRACTICAL application of skills and knowledge. My academic background is in behavioral/ cognitive psychology and educational research; and my 1st job out of college gave me an immediate opportunity to put theory into practice.

Following an enlightening (but humbling) trial-by-fire experience working with elementary students who had been identified as “behaviorally disordered”, I came to Calif. to do research on learning and teaching at the Center for Education Research at Stanford (CERAS) and pursue a doctorate degree.

Since my days as a grad student at Stanford in the early 80s when I traded consulting services for an account on the IBM mainframe, I have been hooked on the use of tech tools to

    - increase efficiency and productivity,
    - promote creativity/ self-expression, and
    - enhance communication and audience outreach.

Throughout my career I have applied my analytical skills + background in teaching and learning to help promote the implementation of new tech tools — from word processing and email (in the olden days) to
    - custom-designed info management systems,
    - *digital media* databases (eg. iPod/ iTunes), and now …
    - content syndication and podcasting.

At a a time when more and more people are tethered to their digital devices, PODCASTING is emerging as a new way for businesses, organizations, or individuals with something to say to connect with listeners.

Podcasting: New Opportunity for Audience Outreach

podcast services As an independent contractor, I work with clients who are interested in using podcasting to connect with current or potential customers, donors, parishioners, and constituents. For my work, I not only draw upon experience in PRODUCING the PA360 podcast, but also in
    - promoting the show,
    - analyzing web traffic, and
    - using social media to build audience.

I also have extensive experience communicating technical information to a general, non-technical audience. Over the years I have developed instructional strategies that focus on ways to make connections between tasks and tools.

Unlike other podcasters. I do not have a background in radio. What I bring to a project is the sensibility of a WRITER.

Therefore, the PODCAST SERVICE I provide = part technician and researcher, part instructor/ coach, and part story-editor.

If you are interested in exploring NEW ways to engage with your audience,
let me know .. and I will put my knowledge and expertise to work for YOU!
